I despair. Brown has taken up the cause of ID cards and once more revived the canard that they wil help defeat terrorism. Odd that, as David Blunkett admitted that was untrue some time ago.

Yes but Gordon Brown believes that raising taxes is good for the economy, that he personally should make all the investment decisions, that increased regulation has nothing to do with poor productivity and that fairies live at the bottom of the garden.
The fact that he should be wrong on id cards is par for the course.
